Elizabeth is a rising senior at Old Dominion University pursuing a degree in Accounting and a minor in Philoshopy. Her vision for Cor Eight came out of her involvement in the community and building relationships with the students. Elizabeth recognized the talents and innovative mindsets in the children, but soon, she also noticed a lack of direction, guidance and support in fostering their innovative and entrepreneurial minds.
On August 8th, 2016, Elizabeth decided to launch this non-profit aimed at fufilling the needs of young entrepreneurs. As a native from Ghana, Africa, she incorporated her Akan culture into the formation of this Initiative, hence the logo.
Growing up in a single parent, immigrant household with four syblings, Elizabeth quickly learned through observation the key to not only surviving poverty, but overcoming poverty and helping others out of that place of destitution. She learned that innovation(opportunity creation), vigilance and support were certainly vital on the path to financial stability and life mobility.
